No SBY's Exact Deadline Set on Nazaruddin
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto stated that President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono did not set the exact deadline on when the suspect of corruption case on the SEA Games 2011 athlete's village project, M Nazaruddin, should be sent back home.
Nazaruddin was nabbed in Cartagena, Colombia, Sunday night, when trying to leave the country. The former lawmaker of ruling Democrat was there using a passport by the name of M Syahruddin.
"No exact deadline set by the president. The point is that the fugitive can be sent back home immediately and have a probe held by Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)," said Djoko to reporters at the Presidential Office here Monday.
SBY conveyed that the former member of House of Rep from Commission III should be sent back home right away when the chief patron of Democrat got the report on the arrest from Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa Monday morning. The president also asked for a tight protection applied to Nazaruddin that is under detention in Bogota now. (Hindra Liu)
